Help Desk

Our mission

We are a team of a dozen IT Services staff members, consisting of an assortment of full time employees and students from various academic disciplines.

Our goal is to provide our fellow SFU students, alumni, faculty and staff with assistance in addressing their technical needs. We aim to build a strong technical atmosphere for SFU members by supporting a wide variety of front-end applications and services. Furthermore, the equipment in our labs is actively maintained to ensure that the SFU community is able to make use of these services when desired.

Our Services

Our Helpdesk staff offer support for equipment offered in the IT Services computer labs including printer, software and hardware problems. We also provide limited support for applications and personal computer issues. The Helpdesk also monitors the security of our equipment within our labs and ensure that they are operating efficiently.

We put forth our most diligent effort in resolving technical problems for the SFU community. However, we may not be able to resolve specific issues pertaining to particular application use. Additionally, we may not be able to resolve complex issues relating to your own personal computer. Both these issues require more comprehensive practices which are beyond the scope of our resources. Our primary mandate is to provide you with basic application and equipment support that relate to our labs.

You can reach us for general inquiries, to report problems, or to obtain technical assistance by:
